Refrigeration
Refrigeration is used, among others, in the food industry, medicine and mechanical engineering. Food and beverages as well as many pharmaceutical and medical products can only be stored safely for longer periods in cold rooms. In the engineering sector, fitting parts must be cooled before they can be processed further. Both the type and size of the refrigeration system, as well as the refrigerants used affect the choice of necessary gas detection equipment. GfG offers gas detection devices for monitoring gases and refrigeration circuits.
Gas monitoring at negative temperatures
Many branches of industry, laboratories and cryogenics are inconceivable without refrigeration. To ensure that the required negative temperatures are constantly maintained, various refrigerants such as ammonia, carbon dioxide and propane are used. Refrigerants expand rapidly when they are sublimed or evaporate, posing serious gas dangers. For monitoring smaller refrigeration chambers, we have developed the GMA22 controller and IR22 F transmitter. The IR22 F can reliably detect CO2 at ambient temperatures of as low as -40 degrees Celsius. Operators of larger refrigeration systems are well advised to use the GMA200-MW16 and corresponding visual and acoustic alarm devices. For other refrigerants such as ammonia, GfG also offers special transmitters such as the CS22, which can be installed in cold and very humid environments. Cooling circuits can be monitored in many ways with GfG's specialized water measurement technology. GfG's portable gas detectors, used to monitor toxic and combustible gases as well as oxygen, increase the personal safety level.
